The P.A.C.T.A. - Promouvoir l'Action Culturelle en Territoire Alpin project aims to promote culture in the Alpine region. Nature's capacity to produce and attract culture materializes in the screenings and events of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, which are conceived and realised in close synergy with the project.

P.A.C.T.A. is the result of a consolidated cross-border partnership between the Gran Paradiso valleys in Valle d'Aosta and the Aulps et Abondance valleys in Haute Savoie. The goal of this partnership is to identify common needs and the intervention strategies to be implemented.

These territories have a strong tourist vocation, since they are characterised by an abundance of sites of natural and cultural interest scattered throughout the territory, yet they are affected by a high seasonality of tourist flows.

Thus, the common need that emerges is that of improving, increasing and differentiating the offer by favouring deseasonalisation, diversifying the flows and increasing the loyalty of the public. This can be achieved by increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of the area.

This need translates into the following objectives:
  • strengthen awareness of the extraordinary heritage that surrounds us
  • improve the offer by renovating the sites of natural and cultural interest
  • increase the attractiveness and accessibility of the area for tourists and residents
  • promote the networking of cultural, environmental and tourism offers
  • increase skills and strengthen synergies among the operators in the area
