ENG - We join in mourning the passing of the great nature filmmaker and friend of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival, Victoria Stone. Victoria inspired generations of viewers and young videomakers, sharing the wonders of the Earth and its resources, from the infinitely large to the infinitely small.

Her images from different countries of Africa, of rare power and beauty, have taken her to the podium of the GPFF several times. In 2022, our audience awarded her the Stambecco d'Oro for ‘The Elephant & the Termite’, the exceptional story of the relationship between different animal communities. In 2020, the technical jury awarded her the Regione autonoma Valle d'Aosta Prize for the extraordinary ‘The Elephant Queen’, the journey of an elephant matriarch to save her herd.

The entire Gran Paradiso Film Festival embraces her partner Mark Deeble and all those who loved her, with deep esteem and affection.

Le sue immagini dal continente africano, di rara potenza e bellezza, l'hanno portata più volte sul podio del GPFF. Nel 2022 il nostro pubblico le assegnò lo Stambecco d'Oro per "The Elephant & the Termite", l’eccezionale storia della relazione che esiste fra diverse comunità animali. Nel 2020, la giuria tecnica le consegnò il Premio Regione autonoma Valle d'Aosta per lo straordinario "The Elephant Queen", il viaggio di una matriarca elefantessa per salvare il suo branco.
